1962 Chevy Impala SS

This was a complete restoration.  The car was completely disassembled and gone through.  All the bushings, wheel cylinders and brake pads were replaced on the chassis.  On the body, the old paint was removed by chemical stripping and sanding.  The dents on the car were all worked out by metal bumping and a thin layer of filler (never more than an 1/8th inch) was used to smooth out the panels.  The car was white originally but soon changed to the stock red for that year.  The engine, a 327 cubic inch. small block was rebuilt and painted just as it was in 1962.  New emblems and badges were installed to finish off this super sport.  This is definitely a smooth riding car as it floats on a custom air ride suspension system designed by Garrett Nielsen back when the kits were not readily available.
